At the April meeting members were inspired to hear the personal stories of Dr Glenda Kickett. Glenda, who is a social worker and senior lecturer at UWA, has received many accolades and awards for her service to the community including being inducted into the WA Women’s Hall of Fame. A Ballardong Wadjuk woman, Glenda is proud of her heritage and shared stories of wildflowers, heart, respect, love of country and netball. As Chair of NAIDOC she helped pioneer the Miss NAIDOC Perth program to give young women opportunities for leadership and development. Members appreciated Glenda’s warmth, generosity and humour in sharing her journey so far. Pictured: Sandra Burns, Dr Glenda Kickett and Lind Higgie.
